Term 1

So far we have had a very busy term. We have all settled well in our new class and we have been getting to know each other. We had spent time at the start of term discussing our Class Charter and agreeing the rules for our class. We also voted for our Pupil Representatives for Pupil Council, Anti Bullying, Rights Respecting School and The Eco Committee. Our RME topic this term has been Islam and we have been learning about the Hajj. Our Social Studies topic is China and we are really enjoying this! We started this topic by meeting up with room 10 to discuss our learning plan. The 4 questions we look at are ; What do I already know ? What would I like to learn? How would I like to learn? and How will I share my Learning? We have been looking at China on the world map and using our Numeracy skills to use co-ordinates on our map of China. We are also creating a bar graph of room 9 and 10's favourite Chinese food. In ICT we have been progressing our skills in personal research. During P.E we are working on our gymnastics skills on Mondays and our small ball skills on Fridays. The whole school were also very lucky to have a visit from Hopscotch Theatre, this was an excellent show discussing the Rights of the Child and showing us a clearer understanding.
