Special Delivery

Yesterday we received a special delivery from Miss Lochhead's friend Yvonne from Australia! She sent us some Australian food that we are going to try at our beach party next week! We were so excited and very grateful for Yvonne's help! 

We have mail!!

We were all so excited on Friday to have ALL received an e-mail back from our friend Kyah, a school pupil who lives in Perth, Australia. She answered all our questions and we replied back saying thank you. We have loved learning from Kyah through e-mails on our GLOW accounts and through the power points she sent Miss Lochhead! Thank you Kyah. 

During our ICT time we also creating animation on our GLOW accounts and recorded our voices on it to make them into multimodal stories. This was so much fun. Miss Lochhead was very impressed with the ICT skills of the boys and girls. Log into GLOW and show your friends and family your animations Room 8. 

Australian Visitor

Room 8 and 9 were very lucky to get a visit from Miss Lochhead's friend Carrie who had been living in Melbourne, Australia for 13 months! She told us all about her visit and showed us lots of pictures. We learned so much from Carrie and loved asking her lots of questions! The boys and girls even invited her to the Halloween Disco! We are so grateful that Carrie came in to our class! 

Paired Writing

On Thursday we watched a video called 'Something Fishy'. The girl went through a portal and it took her to a fantasy world. With our co-op group and face partners we worked together by uplevelling our sentences and creating our own fantasy stories! They were super and we hope to record them and put them on the blog soon! Watch this space! 

Outdoor Learning

We're going on a mini beast hunt! 

Yesterday, with the help of Starling Learning, we went out in the playground to find some invertebrates in the grass land. We found spiders, flies, slugs and wood lice. We even looked at some through a microscope that linked up to the SmartBoard! It was amazing!! 

We also took part in our end of Australia topic quiz with Room 9. Some of the questions were very tricky and we had to really think carefully! 

After that we practised our small ball skills whilst playing hockey! Room 8 really enjoy this sport! Check out some photos below. 

Alex and Kaitlin's Weekly Blog

This week we have been learning about Internet Safety and Stranger Danger. We watched lots of films and songs and made a poster.

We learned about the Great Barrier Reef and finished our cool display.

We had our end of term reward on Tuesday and we got to play the wii and have lots of fun!

We had some French teachers in are school this week it was really good having them with us it was good fun.

End of term reward

Congratulations to all the boys and girls in Room for having excellent behaviour throughout the term! 

We were all so lucky to have an afternoon of golden time and snacks! Some of us played the wii whilst others played on Mangahigh and GLOW. Some of us decided to do some art work and create lovely head bands! 

We were very lucky to have Nathalie in our class. She is a Primary School teacher in a school in France! We all said hello and introduced ourselves to her in French. It was amazing to have a real French person to talk to!
