Have a look at our Weather instruments in action!

An Awesome Day

This afternoon we tasted the food that Miss Lochhead's friend Yvonne sent us from Australia. Most of us loved the angel bread, Tim Tams and Milo drink. The majority of the class didn't really enjoy the  Vegemite as much! 

After that we went outside to place our weather instruments in the playground. Some of us made rain gauges, wind socks and anemometers. We are looking forward to using them this week to measure the weather. 

Drama

Today Room 8 worked really hard on their drama techniques. Miss Lochhead set the scene that a storm was coming and we had to meet with the mayor (Miss Lochhead in role) to decide what to do to prepare for this. We then worked in our co- op groups to prepare a freeze frame and a drama. Everyone had great confidence and their imaginations ran wild! We had a fantastic time and Miss Lochhead was very impressed with everyone.

Invertebrate Habitat Hunt

We went on a hunt in our playground to find various invertebrates and record their habitats. We worked in our co-op groups to record our results, find the animals and take photographs of our findings. This was so much fun until the rain came and we had to run back to class!!
