Rebecca and Katie Anne's blog of the week..

Gardening

Yesterday we went into the playground and tidied it up. We were litter picking and deweeding our planters. We can't wait to plant some more vegetables.

Great Barrier Reef

Today with Miss Craig we started our display of the Great Barrier Reef! We worked in groups to create different parts of the display. It is looking super so far! Keep posted for the finished article! Miss Lochhead was very impressed.

Australia co-ordinates

Today we worked in our co-op groups taking part in a co-ordinates challenge! We had locate points on the map and identify points using grid references! Each group got 2 points for helping each other and being supportive!

Australian surprise

Today Room 8 received a Video Call from Miss Lochhead's Auntie Rosemary who lives in Perth, Australia! We all got very excited when we saw Miss Lochhead's phone ringing! 

We asked Rosemary and her friend Olivia questions about Australia! It was so much fun! 

Rosemary said she will phone us again and let us speak to another of her Australian friends! 

What an amazing afternoon!

Australia

Our Australia topic has got off to a great start! Miss Lochhead's auntie lives in Western Australia and Room 8 were very excited to have received an e-mail from her! She sent us pictures of local animals and plants! 

We wanted to find out where Australia was in the world so we completed a mapping challenge with our partners. We can't wait to learn more!
